I Want to Help .   .   .   in the fight against childhood cancer  

Why Me is a  501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization (Tax ID #04-2880644) created specifically to help Central New England families cope with cancer. Why Me is not affiliated with any national organization. All funds are raised directly by the Why Me organization and no funding comes from our medical partners. All assistance and services are offered to the whole family, completely free of charge.

Why Me strives to keep the lowest possible administrative expense thereby maximizing funds available to directly assist families facing childhood cancer.

REMINDER:  Many U.S. corporations have a "Matching Gift Program" through which the corporation matches the donation of its employees to a charitable organization.  You can double your contribution by applying for a matching donation for Why Me by your company.

Donate On-Line
Our online giving process allows you to make a charitable donation to Why Me using the Internet in a way that is fast, easy and secure.  You can even choose to make a tribute contribution in memory of a loved one or in honor of a birthday, anniversary or special occasion.   If your gift is in memory of or in honor of an individual, please type in the name & address of the person to be notified in our "Any additional info?" box.  Include the name of the person your donation is in memory of or in honor of.

Donate To Why Me Through Your Local United Way
Workplace Campaign
You can designate your United Way gift to Why Me.  Simply write in our name to be the recipient on your local United Way pledge form.  Because 25% of the families served by Why Me reside in northern Worcester County, we have been approved as a  "Certified" agency of the United Way of North Central Massachusetts.

Gifts of Securities
Gifts of securities are a great way to support Why Me while providing you with a tax deduction for the current, full market value of the securities.  There are three main types of securities that can be donated to Why Me: publicly traded stock in a corporation, shares in a mutual fund or bonds.  If you have appreciated securities that have been held for more than 12 months and donate them, the appreciation is not taxed to you, plus you get the added benefit of getting a tax deduction for their full fair market value.  If you would like to learn more about how this tax strategy might benefit you, please do not hesitate to give us a call directly at (508) 757-7734 or contact your tax or investment advisor for more details.
