Monthly Support Group Meetings

Due to the compromised immune system's of our kids we must ask Sherry's House visitors to stay home if anyone in your family has a sniffle, cough or has been exposed to someone who has been sick.  We thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

February Meetings & Happenings at Sherry's House

Mixture of Memories Sibling Bereavement Support Group | Wednesday, February 10th - 6pm-9:00pm Mixture of Memories is our sibling support group for children .  A facilitator does activities with the children to work on expressing their emotions over the loss of their sibling.

Parent to Parent Support Group | Wednesday, February 17th - 6pm-8:30pm Our Parent to Parent Support group meets monthly for families that have a child on active treatment or are a childhood cancer survivor. 

Family Dinner - Movie Night  | Friday, February 19th - 6pm-8:30pm End February vacation with Movie Night at Sherry's House.  Dinner will be served at 6pm with the movie starting between 6:30-6:45pm.  Movie is to be determined.

Why Me & Sherry's House - A History

Love & Support for Families with Childhood Cancer

The Why Me organization was conceived and created by 13-year-old Sherry Shepherd during her four year battle with cancer. She was the very first patient at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center when they first opened their pediatric oncology department. Sherry found many wonderful ways to lift the spirits of her fellow cancer patients as a means to ease their suffering. During her struggle with cancer, she became an inspiration to all who knew her, especially the other children being treated for cancer that she met. In the last months of her life, Sherry became determined to do something that would have a lasting value in the community to help children with cancer. With the help of her dad, she founded the non-profit organization WHY ME, which stands for Worcester Help for Youth, Memories Everlasting.  Read More
