Monthly Support Group Meetings


Due to the compromised immune system's of our kids we must ask Sherry's House visitors to stay home if anyone in your family has a sniffle, cough or has been exposed to someone who has been sick.  We thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

July Meetings & Happenings at Sherry's House

Circle of Healing & Mixture of Memories Bereavement Support Group | Wednesday, July 15th - 6pm-9:00pm This is a monthly peer support group for families who have lost a child to pediatric cancer.  Mixture of Memories is our sibling support group for children which meets during the Parents Meeting.  A facilitator does activities with the children to work on expressing their emotions over the loss of their sibling. Dinner will be provided.

Parent to Parent Support Group | There is no Parent to Parent meeting scheduled for July

Family Dinner - Movie NIght | Tuesday, July 28 - 6pm-8:30pm Join us for another fun Movie Night at Sherry's House.  Dinner will be served at 6pm followed by Spy Kids on the big screen starting at 7pm!

Why Me & Sherry's House - A History

Love & Support for Families with Childhood Cancer

The Why Me organization was conceived and created by 13-year-old Sherry Shepherd during her four year battle with cancer. She was the very first patient at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center when they first opened their pediatric oncology department. Sherry found many wonderful ways to lift the spirits of her fellow cancer patients as a means to ease their suffering. During her struggle with cancer, she became an inspiration to all who knew her, especially the other children being treated for cancer that she met. In the last months of her life, Sherry became determined to do something that would have a lasting value in the community to help children with cancer. With the help of her dad, she founded the non-profit organization WHY ME, which stands for Worcester Help for Youth, Memories Everlasting.  Read More
